Christine Maksoud

Mediator | Lawyer | Founder of the Mediation Hub MENA

Christine is a Lebanese qualified lawyer and a solicitor of England & Wales. She has been practicing in the UAE since 2016. She is a senior lawyer at Al Tamimi & Company, an IMI accredited mediator and a mediation trainer. She is a Founding Member and serves as the Executive Director of the Mediation Hub MENA.

She has expertise in resolving disputes through alternative methods such as mediation, negotiation and enabling amicable settlements as well as advisory on UAE law, strategic counsel, pre-litigation guidance, and managing intricate and sensitive commercial and civil disputes.

In 2010, Christine obtained a Diploma in Professional Mediation from the Professional Mediation Center (CPM) of Saint-Joseph University, Beirut, Lebanon. She also completed the ADR Center International Accredited Mediator Training Program in Dubai in 2022. She became a Weinstein JAMS Fellow in 2023, and as part of her fellowship in the United States, she completed the Negotiation and Leadership Course at the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School in Boston, Massachusetts, the mediation training “Mediating the Litigated Case” at the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution, Pepperdine Caruso School of Law in Malibu, California, and the International Training Program for promoting mediation, a joint initiative by the Centre for Negotiation and Dispute Resolution at UC Law, San Francisco and JAMS.

Christine has had the opportunity to shadow JAMS panelists as part of the Weinstein JAMS Fellowship program. She has a notable commitment to education, delivering mediation training courses at the Saint Joseph University in Dubai and the ADR Centre, and previously teaching a peer mediation program in Lebanese schools aimed at fostering non-violent communication among children She also volunteered as a mediator for the American Bar Association (ABA) Mediation Project in Lebanon, and provided pro-bono mediation services in underprivileged areas and raised awareness about mediation through social institutions.
