With over 48 years of practice in various areas of the law and initially being involved in litigation at all levels of the Courts in Singapore from early 1976, Aziz has gained immeasurable knowledge which he now puts to good use in his ADR practice.

 

 

An Accredited Mediator for over 20 years, Aziz started off with mediating numerous Construction disputes either as a sole Mediator or with other Co-Mediators like Architects, Quantity Surveyors, Engineers and others involved in the Construction industry. At the same time, he has been involved in Mediations in various kind of commercial disputes like contractual disputes, employment disputes, shareholders disputes, estate & family disputes, also matrimonial disputes (division of assets, custody & care of children) and disputes involving commodities trading.

 

 

The knowledge gained in Mediating these disputes has taught him one major lesson - there is no dispute large or complex enough that does not warrant an attempt by disputants to try Mediation and/or Neutral Evaluation.

 

 

Besides the initial training to be certified as an Accredited Mediator in 2002, Aziz has also obtained Certification on Amicable Dispute Resolution (Neutral) from ICC ADR Dispute Resolution Board, Expertise Services conducted in Singapore in April 2008 besides honing his skill in Arbitration by completing the ICC Institute Masterclass for Arbitration in 2014.

 

He is also on the panels of Mediators with the Asian International Arbitration Centre and Kigali International Arbitration Centre, besides being part of the Mediation Scheme of the Law Society of Singapore. Aziz also freely gives his time, when called upon, to judge Mediation competitions or being involved as 'Mediator' in these competitions, and even teaching different aspects of Mediation to students in India and Africa.
